Hiroshima 1946 John Hersey 1st Ed.Book/Pic. Kiyoshi Tanimoto Autograph.Rare/Read For Sale

The book has some special attributes such as being first edition and signed by Reverend Kiyoshi Tanimoto and his original photo in 1949 pasted on the facing title page. The photo is identified by his nickname. The nickname “Colonel Asilomar” was a temporary moniker used by some American friends. This nickname is not widely known or used. He is one of the six survivors pictured on the back cover in 1945. The book is hardcover and is covered by a heavy cellophane dust jacket, as well as paper. It is in very good condition, crisp sound copy. The dust cover has some ruff edges at the top and the book corners show slight wear. The hard cover is clean. It is an account of six individuals who lived through this harrowing time in history. This is a hard to find book with Kiyoshi original photo from 1949 and signed title page which includes his address at that time and Japanese characters. Evidently there are only two or three of these books signed by any survivor that have been offered for sale. None of the books sale advertisements mentioned a photo that I have found. DRDC
