The Honeywell V8043E5012 is a two-position, normally closed motorized zone valve with auxiliary end switch, built on the 5000-series powerhead. The 5000-series is the later powerhead design that superseded the 1000-series; Honeywell publishes an upgrade path for converting 1000-series valves to the newer head, so the two are broadly interchangeable at the powerhead level.The end switch provides an SPST contact that closes when the valve reaches the open position, allowing the zone to start a boiler or circulator only once flow is available. Operation is by a motor-driven powerhead working a swing-type ball valve that closes against the flow of water for quiet running, with a manual opener for installation and power-failure operation.
