WHAT ERROR 162 MEANS162 is IBM's configuration error: the configuration stored in CMOS does not match the hardware POST actually finds. On a machine of this age it is most often associated with a dead CMOS battery, a drive that is no longer present or configured, or both. The standard procedure is to run the PS/2 Reference Diskette for this model and save the configuration. I am not representing that as a guaranteed fix, and no Reference Diskette is included. I am telling you the code so you can judge it yourself.
What is demonstrably working: the power supply, motherboard, 4MB of memory, the keyboard, the floppy drive mechanism and the gas-plasma display.
CONDITIONPre-owned. Cosmetically good for a machine of this age, with normal case yellowing and light handling marks. Study all photos, which show the actual unit from every side including the screen powered on.
