These were used in a home studio for many years and still sound fantastic. I tested both speakers and all drivers are working properly. The woofers, midranges, and tweeters all play cleanly, and the mid/high frequency level controls function as they should.
This is the classic JBL 3-way studio monitor design with the large 12-inch white-cone woofer, dedicated midrange and tweeter, front bass port, and adjustable level controls. These have the lively, powerful JBL sound these monitors are known for.
The walnut-finish cabinets are especially nice for their age. The wood grain looks great and there are only minor signs of normal vintage use. Both black cloth grilles are included and present well.
A few things worth noting: the woofer surrounds show visible treatment/sealant, which can be seen clearly in the close-up photos. Also, one speaker may have had a component replaced at some point in its life. I cannot confirm that with certainty, so I would rather mention it than guess. Please review all of the driver photos closely.

These are not beat-up garage speakers. They are a very presentable pair of classic JBL monitors that have spent many years in a home studio and continue to perform extremely well.
Cosmetically there are light marks, dust, and normal signs of age and use, but overall they present exceptionally well for vintage 4312s.
Please inspect all photos carefully, as they are part of the description and show the exact condition of the cabinets, drivers, surrounds, grilles, and controls.
They are large and heavy, so they will be packed very carefully for shipment.
