The factory system architecture combines the JBL 2231A 15-inch low-frequency driver, 2420 compression driver, 2312 horn, 2308 acoustic lens, 2405 ultra-high-frequency driver, and 3133A dividing network.

We inspected both JBL 4333A monitors before service, including the cabinet surfaces, 2231A low-frequency sections, 2420 compression-driver sections, 2405 ultra-high-frequency sections, crossover/L-pad control areas, rear connections, and overall operating condition.
We also inspected the major installed JBL driver assemblies and documented the component configuration of this actual pair.
Service
Our technicians addressed the cabinet-surface wear identified during inspection and cleaned and detailed the walnut-finish cabinets, blue front baffles, grilles, driver areas, and exterior hardware.
We serviced the crossover/L-pad control sections and restored proper control operation.
The installed 2231A, 2420, and 2405 assemblies were inspected during the service process.
Final Testing
After service, we tested both monitors under normal playback conditions.
The 2231A low-frequency sections were checked for stable and consistent bass output.
The 2420 compression-driver sections were checked for clear and consistent output through the horn assemblies.
The 2405 ultra-high-frequency sections were checked for normal upper-frequency output.
The front level controls were checked after service for proper adjustment and operation.
Both speakers were then evaluated together for left/right consistency, speaker-connection integrity, and overall music playback before final approval.
