HIGHPERFORMANCE IS OUR FORTE

Firstintroduced in 1985, the Forte quickly established itself as the mostpopular Klipsch model. The elegant design and outstanding performancemade the Forte a standout among its competitors. In 2017, Klipschre-introduced the Forte as part of the Heritage speaker series. Thenew Forte IV features updated cosmetics and the latest advancementsin acoustic engineering, while maintaining the original charisma thatmade the Forte so popular.

DESIGNEDAND MADE IN THE USA

USINGDOMESTIC AND IMPORTED COMPONENTS

Don’tmess with perfection. We’ve made some important upgrades to theForte IV, but it remains relatively unchanged since its inception.Remember great sound? We do, too. The Forte IV enclosure is stillmade in the USA, by proud craftsmen in Hope, Arkansas. Just like PaulW. Klipsch (PWK) intended.

FEATURES

HIGHEFFICIENCY, HIGH PERFORMANCE LOUDSPEAKER

TheForte IV hosts a three-way design utilizing a 12” woofer andhorn-loaded midrange and tweeter. The Forte IV incorporates an allnew K-702 midrange compression driver, featuring a polyimidediaphragm for exceptional detail and dynamics. The K-702 midrange ismated to a modified Tractrix® horn — featuring our patented Mumpstechnology for even polar response of mid frequencies, giving youmore consistent sound throughout the listening area. The titaniumdiaphragm high-frequency driver has an all-new wide dispersion phaseplug for providing exceptionally even high-frequency dispersion for awider, more accurate sweet spot.

PASSIVERADIATOR YIELDS FULL RANGE PERFORMANCE

TheForte IV’s well-extended bass is found in the use of a rear-mountedpassive radiator. A mammoth 15” (38 cm) in size, this sub-bassradiator operates on acoustic pressure generated by the active wooferfor greater bass output and extension.

NETWORK

TheForte IV has been completely revoiced from its predecessor, utilizingpremium componentry in an all new high-fidelity network —minimizing electrical degradation throughout the circuitry — fortruer to life sound with best in class efficiency and power handling. The new network draws from the classic three-way steep slope designof the legendary Klipschorn and La Scala speakers.

BI-AMPINPUT PANEL AND BINDING POSTS

TheForte’s premium, aluminum input panel accommodates large,high-quality speaker cables. Strong, versatile and quality bindingposts provide the capability for bi-wiring or bi-amping.

BOOK-MATCHEDWOOD VENEER

Klipschonly uses book-matched wood veneers for the Heritage series. Theveneer leaves are kept in order as they are delicately sliced fromthe timber and precisely arranged to provide a mirror image at thesplice joint — like turning the pages of a book. This gives eachspeaker an aesthetically appealing and consistent appearance that istreasured more than any other cut of wood veneer.

MATCHEDPAIRS

Everypair of Heritage series loudspeakers are grain-matched using woodveneer panels that come from the same timber. Each cabinet iscarefully matched so that each speaker in the pair is practicallyindistinguishable from the other. The speakers move seamlesslytogether through the factory, and each finished product is inspectedand labeled with sequential serial numbers, ensuring that yourHeritage series speakers leave the factory as a meticulously craftedset.

BUILTTO LAST

Whileeach and every component of the Forte IV is built to last, Klipschhas always recognized the unique and critical role of a loudspeaker’scabinet in the sound reproduction process. From the craftsmen inHope, AR to the engineers in Indianapolis, IN, Klipsch has always putan extraordinary emphasis on cabinet design. The Forte enclosure isassembled using only the highest-grade adhesives and fasteners. Thisis a speaker you will hand down from generation to generation.

Klipsch Forte IV: $5,500.00/pair
On its surface, the Forte IV appears almost unchanged from its predecessor, the Forte III that KM reviewed in Vol.42 No.8. The floorstanding, horn-loaded IV\'s specifications are identical to those of the III, but there are differences in the details. While the 12\" woofer and 15\" passive radiator are unaltered, the titanium-diaphragm high-frequency compression driver now has an ABS phase plug and the midrange unit is now a Celestion polyimide-diaphragm compression driver. Perhaps most significantly, the crossover has been completely redesigned. The result, according to KM, was a refinement and poise that the III, for all its virtues, lacked: \"The IV sounded smoother and richer than the III from the midrange through the upper treble, and the soundstage was deeper.\" The IVs \"rocked\" dynamics and visceral textures, found KM, who concluded that for the extra $500 over the price of a pair of Forte IIIs, the Forte IV was \"more coherent, sweeter, smoother, and more refined, with a better-defined top end, a warmer midrange, and the same trademark dynamics and low-end weight as the previous Forte version.\"
