This vintage Resistol Beaver 25 fur felt hat is in great condition. The felt is soft and malleable with your hands. The only wear is some aging on the inside sweatband, but the gold stamping is like new and again same with the fur felt. The brim measures at 3.5 inches and the crown is currently sitting at 5 inches with room on the inside to go smaller if desired. I hand shaped it down to 4.25 inches before taking it to Cavenders to have it professionally shaped in the design of Tim McGraw\'s Dutton character in 1883. If you\'d prefer a different crown or brim shape, Cavenders will steam and reshape for free. At size 6 3/4 is this would make a great hat for someone with a smaller sized head or child looking for a more authentic period piece whether for dressing up, farm to table dinners or even a high quality Halloween costume. If you\'ve visited a Kemo Sabe store you know beaver felt hats of lesser quality go for multiple hundreds and sometimes close to $1000. Honestly, even Stetson and Resistol are selling hats of lesser quality for hundreds more. In research and talking with many professional hatters the vintage beaver fur is of much higher quality than the standard off the shelf fur felt hats of today.
