Vintage Keystone View Company World War I Stereoview Collection – 49 Cards, #51–100
Offered is a very nice group of 49 vintage Keystone View Company stereoview cards from the World War I series, consisting of cards #51 through #100, with only card #78 missing.
These are original vintage Keystone stereoscopic photographs with the characteristic Keystone View Company printing and descriptive text on the reverse. The cards cover a wide variety of World War I subjects, including President Woodrow Wilson, American troops, wartime activities, soldiers returning home, and other important events and scenes associated with the war.
Particularly notable cards in this group include:
• #11949 – President Wilson and Miss Margaret Wilson Passing Down the Gangplank from the George Washington in France. An especially interesting President Wilson and World War I image.
• #19118 – Colored Troops En Route to France. This important WWI image depicts African American soldiers traveling toward France and is one of the more historically interesting cards in the group.
The collection also includes #51, President Wilson Addressing Congress, and continues through #100, with #78 being the sole missing number.
Condition: Overall, these cards are in very good to excellent condition for their age, with strong photographic images and generally clean, readable backs. There is some normal age-related edge and corner wear, but the cards present very well overall. Please see all photographs for the exact condition.
The cards are housed in an older cloth-covered storage box/case. The box is included with the cards, although I cannot guarantee that it is the original factory-issued Keystone container.
A great opportunity to acquire an almost complete consecutive run of 49 vintage Keystone World War I stereoviews. The consecutive numbering, excellent overall condition, historically significant subjects, and inclusion of the storage box make this an appealing group for a stereoview, photography, military history, or World War I collector.
