It is an \"Amroad\" makeover from a 1976movie “Silver Streak. For the movie, the CP Rail CAB #4070 and CAB#4067 had its lettering replaced with the fictional \"Amroad\"logo, and the CP multi-mark was swapped with an arrow, but the original CP redpaint was left on the train.

Internet research: The \"Amroad\" trainin the 1976 movie “Silver Streak” was a fictionalized railroad, asAmtrak refused to let filmmakers use their trains due to the movie\'sinfamous runaway crash. To fix this, the production team leased engines andpassenger cars from the Canadian Pacific Railway and simply painted overthe logos.

The Locomotive\'s History

Model &Make: The lead locomotive was a General Motors Diesel (GMD) modelFP7A, which is a classic, streamlined passenger engine.

Birth &Service: It was built in 1952 at the GM Diesel Division plant inLondon, Ontario, for the Canadian Pacific Railway, where it was originallynumbered #4070.

Where is itnow?: The historic locomotive still exists but is retired. It iskept in Quebec, where it functions as an engine shell for static preservation.

The FamedCrash: Because the real Amtrak refused to be involved—largely becausethey feared the infamous runaway train scene where the engine crashes through aChicago terminal would hurt their image—most of the filming was moved toAlberta and Toronto, Canada. The famous, spectacular finale that you see in thefilm was actually built as a life-sized set on a California sound stage
