The vent cap has a built in filter, water/rain guard, that can be cleaned/serviced to help prolong life of the unit. Allows the axle to breath in both directions for expansion and contraction of fluid. These tractors are known to build pressure in the front axle, which can lead to costly repairs if not vented properly. Not designed for use in fully submerged conditions.
