This one earns that reputation in the grain alone: tight, vertical straight grain runs cleanly up both sides of the vase-shaped bowl with barely a waver, the kind of consistency that takes real skill to select and cut for. It's the sort of grain that gets set aside from the regular production run rather than sold off as a standard piece.
