This lot features four different raw, ungraded Lebanese coins spanning the early decades of the Lebanese Republic:
- 1952 twenty-five Piastres
- 1972 five Piastres
- 1972 ten Piastres
- 1975 one Livre
Each piece carries the cedar tree of Lebanon on the obverse, the national emblem since independence, paired with denomination and wreath designs on the reverse in both Arabic and French/Latin script — a nice compact intro to Lebanese coinage for a new collector or a solid pickup for someone building out a Middle East type set.
All four coins are raw (ungraded) and fall in the Fine to Very Fine range. Please review the photos closely to judge the condition of each individual coin for yourself before buying.
Lebanon\'s modern coinage reflects the country\'s turbulent 20th-century history. The 1952 25 Piastres was struck early in the independent Republic era, while the 1972 5 and 10 Piastres and 1975 1 Livre come from the base-metal series introduced as inflation pushed silver out of circulation. Notably, 1975 is the year the Lebanese Civil War began, adding a bit of historical weight to that piece in particular. None of these coins are rare — mintages ran into the millions — but together they make an affordable, attractive little lot of genuine Lebanese history.
