Matsumoto Studios large format watercolor - Moonlit Landscape; 19 x 6 \", artist and Matsumoto stamp LL. c 1935; distributed by MATSUMOTO STUDIOS, TOKYO, JAPAN. Painted area in excellent condition, note the sheen is still bright from the gum arabic or nikawa (animal glue) used in the darker areas of the painting. Some rippling mid sheet but barely noticeable from recto. Appears to be faint damp stain bottom of sheet outside painted area (see pic). A lovely and rare large format Matsumoto watercolor, almost 100 years old.
