Märklin Gauge 1 No. 54507 — DB Class 89 70-75 Tank Locomotive — Digital High-Efficiency Propulsion, Era III — Retired/Discontinued Model

Up for sale is a Märklin Gauge 1 tank locomotive, item #54507, modeling the German Federal Railroad (DB)class 89 70-75prototype, road number89 7462, Era III. This is aretired/discontinued Märklin model, originally offered in the2001/2002 product program, and no longer produced.

Per Märklin\'s official product specifications:

• Three-axle model with built-in digital high-efficiency propulsion, smoke generator (not working), and sound effects circuit
• Can be operated with AC power, DC power, or Märklin DELTA/Digital
• All 3 axles powered directly or through side rods; 1 axle equipped with traction tires
• Sound effects circuit runs continuously and varies with locomotive speed
• Dual headlights change over with direction of travel; can be switched on/off in digital operation
• Special motor with electronically enhanced load compensation and compact bell-shaped armature
• Minimum operating radius: 600mm / 23-5/8\"
• Length over buffers: 26.8cm / 10-9/16\"

Tested & Operation (Seller\'s Testing):

• Tested running indigital mode— a demo video is included in the listing (please watch before buying).Track shown in the video is NOT included— for demo purposes only
• Runs forward and reverse; operates well at higher speed, but isless smooth at slower speeds
• Smoke unit did not workdespite the built-in smoke generator per spec — sold with this issue disclosed; smoke function should be considered non-functional
• Sound worksand can be switched off via a small switch located on the inside roof of the cab
• Sound output is on the quieter side, more subdued than newer Märklin MFX-equipped locomotives — please factor this in if you\'re expecting louder sound
• Buyer shouldlubricate and clean the locomotive to Märklin\'s specificationsbefore regular use, as no maintenance was performed by the seller
• Digital/DELTA address is factory-set; original instruction manual (included) explains how to change it if needed

Condition — Please Review All Photos Carefully:

• Signs of use throughout, including hand smudges on the finish, minor dust and dirt.
• Bent or broken handrail/railing and other small decorative detail parts— please review close-up photos showing circled areas of damage
• A small red metal cylindrical part came detached and was found loose in the box —this appears to be a cosmetic-only part that attaches to the rear underside of the locomotiveand will need to be reattached by the buyer (see photos)
• Original box shows wear, dings, dents, edge wear; the internal styrofoam cradle has some broken-off styrofoam pieces and loose styrofoam debris inside the box (see photos) – which is getting on the locomotive.
• Please examine all photos closely, including the close-ups of areas of concern, as they are part of the item description
