Matchbox United States Postal Service Delivery Truck – No. 68 – ©1999 Mattel
A particularly clean loose example of Matchbox\'s USPS delivery truck, finished in postal white with the familiar red-and-blue stripe, USPS eagle logos and United States Postal Service markings.
This is a nicely detailed little casting: riveted bodywork, sliding-door detail, rear cargo door, black bumpers, dark windows and black wheels. One side is modeled with the delivery doorway open, giving it considerably more character than the usual sealed-box delivery van casting.
The underside is marked MATCHBOX, POSTAL SERVICE DELIVERY TRUCK, ©1999 Mattel Inc., CHINA, and 68. Rear body carries printed fleet number 3217564.
Condition is very good loose/displayed condition. White paint remains remarkably clean, graphics are crisp and substantially complete, glazing presents well, and wheels/axles are intact. There are a few small age/storage marks and light surface soil visible under close photography, particularly along the roof edges; no attempt has been made to disguise normal handling wear. Please see all photographs for exact condition.
An appealing crossover piece for Matchbox collectors, USPS/postal-history collectors and service-vehicle collections.
