This is an original 1921 Edison Diamond Disc featuring two early Jazz Age fox-trots. Contemporary Edison listings identify catalog 50728 as a February 1921 release pairing Max Fells’ Della Robbia Orchestra with Lenzberg’s Riverside Orchestra.
The 50728-R side features “Rosie – Fox Trot,” composed by Clarke and Merkur and performed by Max Fells’ Della Robbia Orchestra. Matrix 7673-C-4-1 was recorded in New York on December 10, 1920. The 50728-L side contains “Caresses – Fox Trot,” composed by James V. Monaco and performed by Lenzberg’s Riverside Orchestra. Matrix 7666-B-4-4 was recorded December 7, 1920.
