NAKAMICHI 500 Stereo Cassette Tape Deck - Serviced and Fully Functional For Sale

Up for sale is a vintage Nakamichi 500 stereo cassette deck manufactured in 1976. This unit has been tested and serviced and is in very good working and cosmetic condition. Released in the mid-1970s, it defied the limitations of the two-head format by using Nakamichi\'s custom-engineered Focused-Field crystal permalloy (“crystalloy\") head, delivering low distortion, extreme durability and a frequency response and clarity that rivaled many three-head decks of its era. It achieved a frequency response up to 17 kHz, which severely outclassed mainstream competitors of the era that struggled to pass 12 kHz. It featured a high-torque DC servomotor, a massive flywheel that produced very low wow-and-flutter and incorporated a genuine peak level meter that covers a range of –40dB to +5dB. Features include Dolby B Noise Reduction, Tape Selector Switches, Independent Recording and Playback Level Controls, large VU Meters, Headphone Output, Tape Counter with Memory and Auto-Stop.
