The GENIUS2D is built to be installed, not carried: mount it to the frame or firewall, wire it to the battery, and plug in whenever the vehicle sits. For cars, boats, trucks, and RVs in storage -- and for PWCs, ATVs, and lawn mowers between seasons -- it holds a full charge without overcharging.
A parked vehicle still drains its battery; a battery left flat through a winter usually sulfates and never recovers. Float maintenance is the prevention, and the GENIUS2D handles it automatically -- it detects, charges, repairs sulfation, and switches to maintenance on its own. No modes to set.
Thermal compensation adjusts the charge to ambient temperature, so a hot garage in August and an unheated barn in January both get an accurate charge.
