VINYL: EXCELLENT (EX)
This is an exceptionally attractive vintage copy.
Vinyl retains beautiful, strong gloss and has clearly been well cared for. Under bright direct lighting, there are a few very light superficial markings/hairlines consistent with normal handling and sleeve contact.
No significant deep scratches are visible.
Considering the age of this record, the vinyl presents extremely well and is a particularly nice survivor.
The original ATCO/Volt Series labels are also clean and attractive with strong color and print.
JACKET: VG+
Original ATCO jacket presents very well for its age.
Front artwork remains bold and attractive with excellent contrast and the classic Otis Redding performance photograph.
There is age-appropriate storage wear including some edge/corner wear, discoloration/toning and minor wear visible primarily on the rear. Please examine the provided photographs carefully, as they show the actual jacket being offered.
Overall, this is a very presentable original-era jacket accompanying an especially nice record.

COLLECTOR NOTE
Pain in My Heart is Otis Redding’s debut LP and one of the foundational albums of 1960s Southern soul.
This copy carries the desirable MONO presentation with yellow/gray ATCO “Volt Series” labels and catalog number 33-161.
Rather than making an unsupported claim that this is a specific pressing-plant “first pressing,” it is being accurately represented as an early/original-era 1965 U.S. mono issue based on the label, catalog and matrix characteristics visible on this copy.
A particularly attractive example for an Otis Redding, Stax/Volt, Atlantic/ATCO, Memphis soul or vintage R&B collection.
