EASTERN EUROPEAN MUSEUM TOUR by Peter Max (1937-2026)This is a RARE and large (34” x 26”) AUTHENTIC & ORIGINAL exhibition poster from a 1991 exhibit in Leningrad, RussiaThis was HAND SIGNED in person by the artist PETER MAX in 1992.DIMENSIONS: 24” wide x 36” tallCONDITION: EXCELLENT TO NEAR MINT, this is BRIGHT PRISTINE IN COLOR and just as it looked when it was printed over 38 years ago.The only imperfection is some slightly crinkling & a small line near the lower left edge - EASILY covered with matting and/or framing.FULL PROVENANCE & HISTORY - a LOA (Letter of Authenticity) is available by request.
DETAILS: PETER LASZLO KOENIG (1937-2024) was my grandfather by marriage. He was a Harvard graduate, a Fulbright Scholar, a curator, museum director, art critic, professor. Peter Koenig was a curator with the Sarasota Visual Art Center in 1992 and then the Director in 1998. He was responsible for coordinating the Mona Lisa show at the Sarasota Art Center for Peter Max in 1992. He was given this signed poster and a few others by the artist Peter Max himself at the closing of the exhibit. This was found rolled in a large tube and tucked away in a closet on his passing. His home was air conditioned, while being 100% smoke & pet free.An LOA (letter of authenticity) can be included BY REQUEST.Peter Laszlo Koenig’s biography is attached.
