Beautiful pair of antique hand-colored botanical engravings after Sydenham Edwards, published July 1805 by C. Taylor, Fleet Street, London. These finely detailed floral studies feature delicate original hand coloring and classic early 19th-century botanical illustration.
One print includes Anemone hortensis (Star Anemone), while the other features Bupleurum fruticosum (Shrubby Hare’s-ear) and accompanying botanical specimens. Plates are engraved by S. Sansom and J. Pass, and colored by Edwards, noted for his work associated with The Botanical Magazine.
