Condition & Completeness details:
· The Postcards: All 21 included postcards are in excellent, undamaged vintage condition, crisp, flat and free of tears, creases or marks. There is light, natural age-yellowing/toning on reverse as expected for a 1989 item (see photos).
· The Slipcase Box: The original card presentation box is structurally sound. Shows expected vintage handling wear, including light edge rubbing and minor corner wear. The tuck-in closure tab has some creasing and edge-fraying/tear wear from opening (see photos).
· The Postcards: Sequentially numbered 1 through 23 (2 postcards missing).
· Total Included: Original slipcase, original introductory cardand 21 original postcards.
The postcard box set was published to document and accompany the historic 1989 exhibition of Peter Shire\'s \"TOPS\" collection at Design Gallery Milano. A founding member of the Memphis Group and key figure in post-modern art and design, Shire’s collection featured vibrant, geometric teapots, tables, candlesticks, seating, and decorative objects influenced by California Funk art, architectural forms, and playfulness. The individual cards in this slipcase feature high-quality studio photographs by Santi Caleca, art direction by Barbara Radice, staging by Michele De Lucchi, and graphics by Sottsass Associati.
