Philodendron patriciae × Philodendron spiritus-sanctiA cross between two of the most coveted narrow-leaved climbing philodendrons - P. patriciae, the Chocó Colombian species with its long, pendulous, subtly quilted leaves; and P. spiritus-sancti, the critically endangered Brazilian endemic famous for its dramatically elongated, narrow, pendant sword-like leaves. The hybrid combines the pendant elegance and elongated form of both parents, producing long, narrow, tapering leaves with a graceful hanging habit. A tall moss pole is essential to achieve the fullest mature leaf expression and to maintain the delicate leggy appearance once mature.Light: Bright indirect light supports the fullest pendant leaf size and fastest development; both parents benefit from good light. Avoid direct harsh sun.Soil: Very open, chunky aroid mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir with excellent drainage; dense or compacted media is particularly detrimental to this lineage.Temperature/Humidity: Warm temperatures between 65-82°F; humidity of 60-75% supports the best growth - patriciae's higher humidity preference moderates somewhat in hybrid form but consistent moisture in the air is beneficial.Watering: Water when the top inch of medium approaches dryness; keep consistently moist but never soggy. Never waterlog.Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4 weeks during active growth; supplement with calcium and magnesium for best leaf quality.
