Playboy Collector\'s ALERT - RARE
This is the May 1954 RED STAR Playboy issue. The Red Star (next to the letter L in Playboy on the cover) makes this a rare variant of the original May issue. Only 9 of these have ever been graded by CGC, and only 1 has ever been graded better!
There are fewer May 1954 Red Star variants graded by CGC than the famous Playboy December 1953 Marilyn Monroe Red Star Variant issue!
May 1954 was the 6th Playboy ever issued - when Hugh Hefner was still struggling to get Playboy magazine off the ground. Many of the early Playboy issues are difficult to find in good shape. As a certified high grade Red Star variant of the May 1954 issue makes this a very RARE Playboy!
CGC graded 7.0- FINE/VERY FINE - this is a very nice copy, and you can rest assured of the quality given CGC\'s stellar Worldwide reputation for accurately grading and then securely encapsulating valuable comics and magazines.
CGC Certification Number: 4721877001
