Professionally Rebuilt REAL Stromberg Model 97 Carburetor. $$ core credit. For Sale

• This is for a premium rebuilt Stormberg Model 97 Regular Sized Logo 2-barrel Carburetor used on Ford Flathead engines and many custom applications. I capitalized the word REAL because of all the problems I have heard and tried to correct with fake ones from Taiwan that are marketed by Speedway Motors and some other companies. I have included a picture of a Chinese accelerator pump from a new one to show the poor quality and a non-ethanol proof rubber pump cup. The original kits I use still have the leather (life time?) pumps. The difference between and regular and large logo carbs is the design of the idle circuit. They both flow and otherwise look the same except for the size of the logo. I have sales for both.

These real ones are rebuilt by the best and one of the largest classic carburetor rebuilder in the world. The best available new gaskets, seals, accelerator pump, inlet seat/needle, pump springs and power valve are used to bring them tobetter thannew condition and make them ethanol-proof.You get newcorrect size main metering jets and polished zinc and stainless-steel fasteners. Each carb is bench-tested and set to specifications.

I can modify these for use as a secondary unit if you are using multiple carbs. I have a few after-market secondary throttle bodies if you prefer not to have mixture needles. The second picture shows one without the choke for such an application. I can leave the end of the throttle shaft bare for installation of accelerator links if desired. Jet size is your choice, or I will set them up based on your engine and driving preferences. Most came with .045" jets. If you are using a multi-carb set up on a flat head engine this is a good choice avoid over-carburetion, as they flow up to about 160 - 180 cfm depending on the capacity of your engine.

I rebuild about 100 of these particular carbs each year so you can be confident that it will be right. Many carbs have "factory quality" issues that are typical of poor/no quality-control at the time they were manufactured, so I check and correct the problems such as warpage, uneven sealing surfaces, and throttle body and throttle plate wear and corrosion thatcause fuel to seep out or drip into the carb at idle and after shutdown.
