A Rare 1883 handwritten musical manuscript volume of Guillaume (Wilhelm) Wurm's "20 Études difficiles," arranged for cor à pistons (valved horn).
This is a complete bound manuscript containing 20 technical studies for cor à pistons, entirely written by hand on ruled music paper. Measures 14.75" x 11.5" and contains 20 pages.

Wilhelm Wurm (also rendered in French as Guillaume Wurm, as on this manuscript) was a German-born brass musician/composer associated with Imperial Russia. The French form "Guillaume" on the title page is therefore consistent with Wilhelm Wurm and the French-language title.
The volume contains all 20 numbered études, with handwritten musical notation, tempo/expression markings, corrections and annotations throughout.
There are also contemporary handwritten inscriptions within the volume, including inscriptions dated 1883.
The volume is period bound in dark cloth-covered boards. The manuscript leaves show substantial age-related toning/foxing, edge wear, cracking/tears and old repairs/mounting consistent with the photographs. The exterior binding also shows wear and loss to an old label.
