RARE 1927 Antique Steiff BULLY French Bulldog 20 cm. Metal Chest Tag Bell For Sale

Pre-war 1920’s models with intact IDs are extremely scarce. Up for sale is an exceptionally rare, museum-quality pre-war original Steiff “ Bully” French Bulldog. This piece was manufactured exclusively during Steiff’s collectible golden era between 1927-1928.Measures 6” tall from top of head to feet. Features original round white chest tag enclosed in a metal rim. It reads “Bully” over Steiff-Original in the iconic bold serif font. Steiff only used this exact metal-framed disc structure from 1926 to 1928, providing definitive authentication for dog’s age. The tag remains securely held by its attached sturdy linen thread loop.Original bell- Retains smooth period-correct brass bell.No button present in the left ear due to decades of historical playware—a very common occurrence for a genuine piece from this era.Condition Report: This over a century old survivor displays antique wear. The vibrant orange-beige hair shows thinning and loss. Stitching on nose and paws is intact. Snout still shows freckles across face. Eyes intact without any cracks. The internal stuffing remains structurally rigid, allowing the dog to remain sitting upright.The metal rimmed tag is beautifully preserved with light, uniform pagination along the metal border and crisp, perfectly legible lettering.
