Even though Pomco Inc/Otto Pomper Cutlery Company was based in Chicago and the razor has a USA stamp, this unique razor was most likely made in Solingen, Germany by Merkur.
The three piece Gillette type features a curved cap with a ribbed guard and hour-glass shaped handle with a bullet tip TTO knob. Marketed strictly for the ladies, the slanted side was used for the legs, and the convex/curved side for the underarms and delicate areas. If you’re a guy, you have to try it. It gives a close shave, has a cool factor, and is a great find for the serious collector.
The razor is in superb condition with minimal blemishes and fantastic plating. The mirror shine top cap has tiny blemishes and flea bites. The long center post threads are in great shape, along with the solid stabilizer pins. The dual ribbed guards, lather slots, and hollow handle are in great condition, with one light blemish on the baseplate topside near the center post hole. The inner barrel/TTO knob is in great condition. The Single Ring style handle is impressive when put together, and all three pieces mate together perfectly. The detailed cuts of the knurling and the bullet tip is special. It’s shave ready and it has been cleaned and sanitized.
