This listing is for a rare and beautiful Austrian Amphora Elephant urn by Amphora.
The vessel measures 9 1/2 inches tall with a removable cover.
It features 3 elephant heads amongst jungle like foliage. as you can see from the photographs it is highly glazed in spots with the background being unglazed. The cover is very organic with a radiating leaf design.
The urn is very well stamped on the bottom with the Amphora marks (Imperial Amphora Turn) along with an "S" for the artist "Stellmacher" and a Production? number 1784. Also the impressed number 44
The condition is excellent. There are some glaze cracks and minor crackleur (especially notifiable on the unglazed inside of the urn. There is also a firing crack that extends into one elephant ear. Again all quite minor. See the last three photos. There are no chips and no restoration
