A rare, late 19th-century Victorian Aesthetic Movement silver-plated candelabra made by the Wilcox Silver Plate Co. (Meriden, CT). It features a beautiful, highly detailed downward-facing bird figurine and a Gothic-style openwork frame. Stamped on the bottom with the Wilcox maker\'s mark, \"Quadruple Plate,\" and catalog number 2385.
CONDITION / REPAIR PROJECT:
This piece is being sold AS-IS for parts or restoration. It features a heavy, dark antique tarnish throughout. There are three notable condition issues:
- Broken Base Rail: One of the curved metal support rails near the foot has a clean break (see photos).
Frozen Mechanism / Bent Bracket: The horizontal candle arm does not currently pivot, and one of the scroll loop brackets holding the pivot pin is bent outward.
One of the candle cups has a calcified something or other. , seems like glass.
