Offering a rare collection of (9) The American Angler magazines from1883. Most issues have 14 pages. The magazines measure 10\" x 13 1/2\" each and were donated in 1921 to the California Academy of Sciences by Barton Warren Evermann 1853-1932. Famed ichthyologist and director of the Ca, Academy from 1914-1932. Look up Evermann on Google. He wrote 400 books and papers in his career and was appointed by Theodore Roosevelt in 1911 to study rare trout in the California Sierra Mountains. The magazines were de-aquisitioned from the Academy at some date. Found about 30 years ago, in the estate of a woman author. The are in amazing condition!
