The hallmarks for this Wagner Ware No 8 castiron skillet indicate this pan was manufactured in the 1920s. There were only three sizes for this series of skillets 7-9, and they are difficult to locate.Wagner Ware cast iron produced before WWII are the finest inquality for that time period. They tend to have very few casting flawsresulting in a smooth polished finish on both the interior and exteriorsurfaces. The cooking surface has some utensil scores, tiny pin size pits and fine patches of etchingfrom corrosion. These are nearly undetectable as you glide your fingers over aglass smooth surface. Eight sheets of printer paper slipped under the bottom edge stops movement on a polished granite surface. No chips, cracks or repairs.
