Rare vintage heavy glass vase, circa 1960s–1970s, with a striking architectural rectangular form and vibrant orange surface colour.The exceptionally thick glass features fascinating wavy and irregular internal surfaces, producing fluid optical distortions that change depending on the light and viewing angle. A sculptural design combining Space Age, Brutalist and geometric influences.The orange colour is surface-applied rather than coloured throughout the glass. Very good vintage condition with minor signs of age and a few small areas of colour loss, as shown in the photographs. Natural bubbles and irregularities are visible within the glass.Tested with water – fully functional and does not leak.23 × 11 × 8 cm.A particularly unusual and rare piece of vintage architectural art glass; I have been unable to find another identical example.
