Instituted during the presidency of Josip Broz Tito, the Order of Brotherhood & Unity recognised outstanding contributions to promoting cooperation, equality and unity among the peoples and nationalities of Yugoslavia. Today it remains one of the most recognisable and sought-after decorations of the former Yugoslavia.

Historical Background
