I bought this 2023 Rickenbacker 4003S bass new in December 2023 and have played it only in my home studio, for less than an hour total. I am a guitar player, a huge Beatles fan, and have dabbled on the bass from time to time, so that\'s why I bought it. But I found that I just never had the time to get into it, so it has sat virtually unplayed. It\'s time to move it on to someone who will play it and enjoy it, and 100% of the net proceeds of this sale will go to Food For the Poor.
When I did play it, it played and sounded great and is in near mint condition. Looking at it closely, the only things preventing it from being mint are:
1. There are a lot of little bumps (which I think is called patina) on the chrome parts.
2. The finish on the fingerboard is very light colored next to each of the frets...it looks like it might not be fully adhered to the fingerboard near the frets. I looked on Reddit, and this seems to be a common issue with Rickenbackers...one comment was \"the finish is lifting a little due to differing materials. It is normal.\"
3. All of the case candy is included, but I once used the polishing cloth on a different guitar that I was selling, so there is the residue from the polish on the cloth.
The original hardshell case seems to be mint, as it has never left my house. According to my postal scale, the bass weighs approximately 9.6 pounds. Note that this is a 4003S with a mono output jack, not a 4003 which has a stereo output.
