Product description

• Where does the motorcycle data on my R7M come from?

The data (like speed, RPM, lean angle) displayed on your R7M is read directly from your BMW motorcycle's own systems.

Please note: Model Dependency: The availability of specific data features depends on your BMW model and its factory configuration.

• Which BMW models are compatible with the R7M?

  R7M fits BMWs with Nav Prep (SA 272): R 1300 GS/GS Adventure/RS; R 1250 GS/GS Adventure; R 1200 GS/GS Adventure (LC); S 1000 XR; F 750 GS; F 850 GS/GS Adventure; F 900 XR. If not listed, ask your dealer to add Nav Prep (SA 272).

• Why won’t my RiderNav R7M turn on when connected with a USB-C to USB-C cable?

R7M has no built-in battery and USB-C to USB-C cables may not power it correctly. For testing, use a USB-A to USB-C cable with a 5V/2A USB-A charger or laptop port. In normal use, it is powered by a genuine BMW navigation cradle with the ignition on.

• Does the R7M have a built-in GPS?

R7M has built-in GPS to record speed, trip distance, and altitude. It’s for ride data only, not turn-by-turn navigation. When using Google Maps or Waze via CarPlay/Android Auto, location data comes from your smartphone, not the R7M's GPS.

• My Ridernav R7M screen appears to have glue-like residue, scratches, or hazy vertical streaks. Is this a screen defect?

R7M has two films: outer black and inner clear soft. Issues are usually from the inner film not removed, not a screen defect. Peel off inner clear film completely.

• 🏎️Exclusive BMW OEM-Integrated Smart Display: Experience true plug-and-play setup directly into your BMW Nav cradle (Nav Prep 5/6), powered seamlessly without extra cables. Gain full, intuitive control via your BMW Wonder Wheel, displaying comprehensive OEM vehicle data including TPMS(if pre-installed), RPM, & lean angle for R1300RS/GS, R1250GS, R1200GS,S1000XR, F850GS, F900XR etc. Please note that cradles with physical front-mounted buttons are not supported.
• ☀ Unrivaled 1200-Nit IPS Display & IP69K Durability: See clearly in direct sunlight with the superior 7-inch 1280x720 1200-nit IPS touchscreen. Built tough with an extreme IP69K waterproof rating, it withstands dust, mud, high-pressure washing, and operates reliably in temperatures from -20°C to 60°C.
• ⚡ Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto or RiderNav OS: Supports wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto for seamless, automatic connection to navigation, music, calls, and messages. RN OS offers a ride-focused dashboard: large, glanceable information, glove-friendly controls, and glare-resistant themes. Switch between phone connectivity or a clean, dedicated riding interface.
• 🚀 Unique Action Camera Control & Smart Notifications: Instantly start/stop recording on DJI, Insta360, & GoPro cameras directly from the display, simplifying content creation on the go. The R7M keeps you informed of calls and messages with discreet, ride-friendly alerts, letting you decide when to interact. Supports WhatsApp, Messenger, SMS, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Telegram, Skype, LINE. *This Smart Notifications feature is only available for iOS.
• 🔄 Hassle-Free OTA Updates & Optimized Performance: Keep your system cutting-edge with convenient Over-The-Air (OTA) Wi-Fi software updates for continuous feature enhancements. Powered by a robust 64-bit dual-core Cortex-A53 processor for faster startup and a consistently smooth, responsive user experience. 【Note: OTA updates require a microSD memory card (not included with R7M)】
• ⚠️ Important Power & USB Testing Notice: RiderNav R7M has no built-in battery and is powered by a genuine BMW navigation cradle. For USB testing, open the rear cover and use a USB-A to USB-C cable with a 5V/2A USB-A charger or laptop port. Do not use a USB-C to USB-C cable, as it may not power the device correctly and could make it appear faulty. USB cable not included. Reinstall the waterproof gasket and cover after testing.
• Play Freely, Music On the Go:Stream music from platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Music, YouTube Music, and control playback—play/pause, skip, and volume—directly from your R7M or using your BMW wheel controls. Connect your helmet or Bluetooth earphones for clear, private audio, so your personal soundtrack rides with you every mile.
• Instant Control, 60 FPS Fluidity, Zero Hassle:Experience instant response with every tap and swipe, powered by an optimized 64-bit dual-core Cortex-A53 (ARMv8-A) processor. It enables faster boot-ups, smoother operations, and snappier performance than standard units. The 60 FPS interface delivers crisp visuals and stable control, making CarPlay and Android Auto feel as intuitive as your phone.
• Disclaimer on Data Readout:The OEM motorcycle data displayed on the R7M is provided by your BMW. Availability varies by model and configuration. For example, lean angle requires a built-in BMW lean angle sensor; if your motorcycle lacks this sensor—or if BMW's communication protocol does not expose this data—the R7M cannot display the value. These limitations are defined by the motorcycle and cannot be overridden.
• Reminder: The R7M screen comes with a clear HD soft film pre-installed. This is different from the black temporary protective film used for factory shipping. If you notice scratches on the surface, they may only be on the removable HD soft film, not the actual screen. Before applying a tempered glass screen protector, please remove this pre-installed soft film first for better adhesion.
