This is a Rock Exotica Solo Aid self-belay device - designed for rope soloing on aid climbs. They also made the Soloist, for free climbing...the difference being the Solo Aid is designed to hold an upside-down fall, which is more likely to happen while aid climbing. This device works great! It was made in the 90\'s (don\'t recall the exact years), and I have not used it since the 90\'s! The cam is designed to be gentle on the rope in the event of a fall. You remove the cam to insert the rope. The perlon cords prevent you from dropping the pieces and are easily replaceable. In great shape, a few scratches as pictured on the one side. The cam is perfect - looks like new.
