This set includes 10 cards that were released as promotional items for the original MetaZoo trading card game featuring a charismatic online trading cards and collectibles persona Rudy who runs a popular Youtube channel called "Alpha Investments". Rudy worked with the MetaZoo company to produce these promo cards to be released along side limited drops that he sold through his Patreon account. The cards have a limited production run, and some were only released via special sale from Rudy to a limited number of his fans for special occasions, such as the Santa Rudy or the Rudy's Coin promo that was released for his 6.9 anniversary on the Youtube platform.
My understanding is that, as with regular MetaZoo cards, the actual cards were printed by a manufacturer in China, but had limited print runs and were never found in any of the main product line sets. There are ten unique promo cards in this set being here offered for sale -- including a release themed for each of the main sets of the original MetaZoo production line and some separate limited promos. Each of these cards has a separate grade and PSA number that you can see in the listing's pictures.
Why is this set of cards so expensive?! Yes, original MetaZoo is no longer a popular or played trading card game, but these cards are unlikely to ever be reprinted again, have a limited production run, and are actually still of great interest to a number of trading card collectors (even ones who don't play or care about MetaZoo...). These cards make a great bit of trading card history, capturing in a physical snapshot the history of a trading card game with a rocky production story (from Kickstarter to collapse), a boom in the trading card hobby, a controversial internet Youtuber sensation, retro-inspired art, and a turbulent time in global history in light of the worldwide pandemic of 2020.
Each of these cards have been professionally graded by the 3rd party authentication and grading service Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) and have an assigned grade for the cards displayed in a solid archival plastic casing known as a "slab". Each of these PSA slabs has been displayed with the front of the cards in the frame that was specially manufactured by another 3rd party company to display these types of graded cards. The frame alone is an additional value to the sale, and could be used with other graded cards if you have other cards in your collection that you want to display. Simply use the tabs on the back side of the frame to remove the backing and swap the cards in or out of the frame. The frame holds the cards with a little wiggle room, but are fitted to display the cards well when the frame is hanging on a wall or other display method.
This framed set of cards will SHIP FOR FREE to anywhere in the United States of America!The frame will be wrapped in a thin layer of protective packing paper and further secured inside of a fitted cardboard box. This set of graded cards has been hanging on display in my home for a while as a reminder of the past half decade and how the world of collectible trading card hobbies has changed since 2020. It's a fun set that has some genuinely hard to find promo cards in it and that serves as an interesting conversation piece and talking point for serious trading card collectors. I am selling it at this time because I am in need of displaying other items at this time and don't really have the storage space for it. I am hoping to sell it off to another fan or collector who would like this set in their collection and will appreciate the frame.
