set of two Spode Blue Room Collection teacups with matching saucers, featuring two different historic designs from Spode’s Georgian Series: Woodman and Rome.
Each pattern reproduces an early 19th-century design originally created from a hand-engraved copper plate, giving the pieces the intricate detail and rich cobalt-blue imagery associated with traditional Spode transferware.
The Woodman pattern was first introduced circa 1816 and depicts a pastoral Georgian scene surrounded by an elaborate floral border. The Rome pattern, first introduced circa 1811, features an architectural landscape with classical Italian imagery. The cups continue their respective scenes around the exterior, with additional blue decoration visible inside.
Rather than two identical place settings, this set brings together two complementary patterns from the same Spode collection, making it especially attractive for an eclectic blue-and-white table, afternoon tea, cottage or traditional décor, or a Spode Blue Room collection.
