LOS ANGELES RAMS (VINTAGE 80\'S VINTAGE LOGO) MADE IT TO THE SportsBrella Story:This sale is for a scarce and impossible to find in this unused, new old stock condition Sportsbrella helmet-shaped umbrella. Conceptualized in 1984 and produced from 1985 to mid-1988.
This is from my personal stock remaining after the creator and original owner of the Sportsbrella company passed away in 1988. Yes, the inventor of this product was my father.
I used to work in the warehouse moving palates and shipping orders back in the day. I also created all the layouts of the position of logos on the umbrellas (NFL and COLLEGES) for the factory to use to print (I was in art/design school at that time).
These few remaining are what’s left after almost 40 years and never even opened until I took images you see in this sale.
These would make a perfect gift for huge fans of the NFL and college teams I have listed – we produced all of the college teams but I only have the Arkansas Razorbacks and Penn State left and will be up for sale as well.

We used to open them and bring them inside to display the two Super Bowl team umbrellas on each side of the tv back then.
Conceptualized in 1985 and produced in 1986, I was able to be there for promotional photos shoots with LT and Joe Morris of the NY Giants (who then went on to win the Super-bowl that year. My brother went to many of the other photo shoots with the Steelers and Redskins (now Commanders). We were lucky to have some of the players sign our umbrellas during these photo shoots and conventions.
During and after the NFL strike in 1987, it cratered all the sales and hurt the company financially. So when my dad, the inventor of the SportsBrella, passed away in 1988 – the company trademarks and product was sold off by the investor board and inventory liquidated.
I actually had to move pallets for that liquidation sale. A great invention and multi-million dollar idea – but the company never had a chance to recover to sell and market this amazing product and my dad passed before it could be financiallyrewarding for him and the family.
So I have found the remaining few from my personal stock that was stored in my home and onlynow putting them up for sale here.
I hope whomever purchases these will get the joy and pride we all felt when they came out and people were using them and we saw them on tv at the games on Sundays.
