Sabal antillensis is a critically rare palm endemic to the island of Curaçao in the southern Caribbean. For many years, this species hovered near extinction in habitat due to development, grazing pressure, and its extremely limited natural range. Only recently have local conservation efforts begun restoring populations, but even today there are very few palms remaining in the wild, and authentic plants are almost never offered for sale.
