• Condition: This 113-year-old 1912 hardcover ex-library hymnal shows obvious heavy exterior and interior wear and repair attempts, but remains a usable reference copy. Green cloth boards are rubbed and spotty with frayed edges and rounded corners, and the original spine has been fully covered by an added tan paper repair strip that is worn and chipped at the ends. Inner hinges are cracked with exposed mesh, the front free endpaper has a large tear and loss at the upper edge, and the rear pastedown is heavily abraded with wide areas of paper missing and additional repair paper along the inner margin. The text block is shaken with splits at several gutters, though most gatherings remain attached. Pages are age toned with scattered smudges, small stains, and edge nicks; margin tears and chips in places, including a long diagonal tear through the hymn \'How Firm a Foundation\' and losses at some lower and outer corners. The first page with 2 songs is missing, but the rest appears to be complete.
