Soligar/Fujita 66 Med Format Camera body For Sale

Soligor 66 (mid-1950s Japanese 6×6 medium-format SLR).

It is a rebadged Fujita 66 (also sold as Kalimar Reflex, Haco 66, etc.), made by Fujita Kogaku in Japan and imported into the US by Allied Impex Corporation (AIC) under the Soligor brand. The diamond “AIC” logo on the viewfinder hood is the clear brand mark of the importer. The design is credited to German engineer Heinz Kilfitt (known for the Robot cameras and Mecaflex).

Needs Restoration or for parts

• Format: 120 roll film, 12 exposures of 6×6 cm.
• Type: True single-lens reflex (SLR) with a waist-level finder. It looks a lot like a TLR from the outside because of the finder hood and compact upright body, but it is an SLR with through-the-lens viewing and (on some versions) an automatic-return mirror. It was promoted as one of the earliest Japanese 6×6 SLRs.
• Lens mount: Proprietary M44 screw mount (not a common thread). The standard lens was typically an 80 mm f/3.5 (or similar). Other available lenses included a 52 mm wide-angle (an early retrofocus design for medium format) and a 150 mm telephoto. Lenses are scarce today. Your photos show the body with the lens removed—the open mount is visible.
• Shutter: Cloth focal-plane shutter. Original versions ran roughly B, 1/25–1/500; later variants added slower speeds (down toward 1/5 or 1 s depending on exact model).
• Other: Film advance knob that also cocks the shutter, frame counter, cold shoe, flash sync, and a relatively compact/lightweight body for medium format (around 2–2.5 lb with lens). Focus is via a tab on the lens.
