6-Ply Poplar Shell With 45º Bearing Edge

Every 468 Series snare drum is built around a 6-ply poplar shell engineered for balanced tone and clear attack. The 4\" depth delivers tight, focused articulation, the 6\" adds extra snap and presence, and the 8\" produces a warmer, fuller voice that still cuts through the mix. A precision 45º bearing edge promotes clean head seating and dependable tuning, while hand-cut snare beds help maintain smooth, even snare engagement across dynamic shifts. Whether tuned high for sharper definition or lower for added body, the drum responds evenly and stays controlled.

Chrome Hardware With Smooth Side-Action Throw-Off

The 468 Series snare drum pairs its shell design with durable chrome-plated hardware built for consistent performance. A smooth side-action lever throw-off and deluxe cast butt-end provide reliable snare engagement, while mini-tube lugs and 10-hole, 1.6 mm triple-flange hoops help maintain even tension and stable tuning. Twenty strands of steel snare wires deliver crisp sensitivity, and a coated Remo batter head comes installed for a familiar playing surface right out of the box. Altogether, these details make the SPL 468 Series snare a dependable, great-looking addition to your drum kit configuration.
