The fixture: Sun System Brand 1000W DE HID Grow Light Kit Fixture. This is actually a rather rare fixture on the Horticultural Lighting market. DE HID lights, generally, are never Air Cooled like their Single Ended Counterparts. Sun System, however, designed a very sophisticated Hood that channels the hot ambient air radiating from the DE bulb into chambers that are built into the fixture, where any inline fan of your choice can be attached to the 6\" Intake/Outtake to effectively provide air cooling to this DE light fixture, allowing it to be placed closer to plants than standard DE HID lights as well as reducing overall ambient heat radiated into your grow room.
Ballast: Brand: Galaxy; Not just any old 1000w Ballast can power a DE fixture without serious damage to the bulb and potential fire hazards. Low Frequency, Square Wave Ballasts are required for optimum performance as well as for safety. The Ballast is digital and dimmable, from 400w to 1150w. This Ballast alone is well over 200$ new.
The Bulb: A Hortilux 1000w DE bulb is included, with its box and packaging included. This bulb has seen well under 500 hours of run time, leaving over 2/3rds or more of the bulb\'s lifespan remaining. This bulb, new, is well over 100$.
Overall: If you need powerful lighting to produce massive yields but are concerned that a Double Ended HID light will overheat your grow space, this is a fantastic option! It is powerful and I recommend having a vertical space of at least 7 to 8 feet to prevent bleaching in later flowering phases of plant life. I personally paid over 600$ for this setup a few years ago, but I am looking to switch fixtures and feel that this light still has many, many years of life left. If the price seems high, compared to other DE HIDs, it is. But other HID Double Ended fixtures are not actively air cooled, giving this setup a massive advantage over Phantom and other Sun System lights.
Room Size: Perfect for a 5x5 Grow Room; 4x4 may be overkill and 6x6 you may start losing light intensity around the edges. Between the condition of the Ballast, Bulb and Fixture, this light is around for the long haul! Message me with further questions.
