Tamiya BBX - Ultimate Dune Buggy Performance
The Tamiya BBX 2WD Buggy was inspired by Tamiya's back catalog of iconic 2WD off-road buggies. This high performance off-road machine features a redesigned BB-01 chassis, hybrid monocoque-roll cage, and employs rear trailing arm suspension inspired by full-size UTV’s. All this is wrapped in a 0.7mm thick polycarbonate body designed and crafted by the renowned Japanese artist Atsushi Arino with a classic 1980’s-inspired livery, complemented by retro wheels and tires for a nostalgic touch.
About The BBX
Polycarbonate Clear Body
The durable 0.7mm thick clear body is made into three sections to allow for a tapered lower shape like an actual dune buggy. Race accurate decals are also included to give a realistic look around the molded roll cage. The upper and rear body panels are perfectly molded to fit around the chassis completing the off-road look.
Performance Drivetrain
The 2WD chassis is designed for a realistic, easy to drive feel. The kit uses full ball bearing support and fully independent suspension. The front of the chassis uses an updated double wishbone design and features A-shaped arms while the rear uses long trailing arms inspired by real UTVs. The rear mounted motor (not included) aids in rear traction letting you grip various terrain hard. Oil filled shocks front and rear further aid in suspension design and add a realistic look to the chassis.
Wheels & Tires
Getting your power to the ground are four off-road race inspired wheels and tires. The wheels feature clean chrome plating with narrow front and wide rear wheels. The included tire inserts support the tires allowing for optimal support of the tires. The tires are made of soft rubber and feature a tread pattern found on many dune buggies from the 1980's.
