Rare custom Tarantula Clothing Co. “Ricky” jacket, made circa 2004.
Fantastic vintage-style rockabilly jacket inspired by the classic 1950s Ricky jacket, featuring a black felt-like body and sleeves, contrasting woven patterned front panels, oversized black patch pockets, pointed collar, full zipper front and striking red satin-style interior lining.
The back features the classic gathered/pleated construction associated with mid-century leisure jackets. Tagged Tarantula Clothing Co. – XL.
This was custom made circa 2005 and has a terrific authentic 1940s/1950s rockabilly, lounge, greaser and Viva Las Vegas aesthetic.
Tarantula itself describes its specialty as vintage-inspired clothing based on classic 1940s, ’50s and ’60s fashions. Historical research on the company specifically notes founder David Contreras reproducing 1950s “Ricky” jackets, named for Ricky Nelson and Ricky Ricardo.
