Tonalist Oil on Canvas Painting After Jean-Baptiste-Camille-Corot (1796-1875):
$860.00
This work is a hand-painted oil on canvas copy of Corot’s Souvenir de Mortefontaine. The original hangs in the Louvre in Paris. The painting captures an idealized landscape, a scene of tranquility with a woman and children enjoying themselves by the shore of a lake. The large tree frames the scene and plays against the reflection of light created by the subtle reflection of the water. The canvas measures 17 ½” by 23” to sight and 23” by 29” in the wood composition, crème and gilt frame. The canvas and paint surface is in an excellent, stable condition. The artist’s signature is on the lower right corner.
