- The teapot is 9 1/4" long and 5 1/4" in height to top of lid. It holds about 3 1/2 cups of tea. It is signed "Tony Carter 466/2000 Made in England". No chips, cracks, or other defects found. The iconic English canal boat owes its distinctive long, narrow shape to its need to fit through the lock system of the canals. The actual boats are about 7' wide and 70' long. They were commercially viable freight haulers form the mid-18th century to the early 20th century. Today they are used as pleasure cruisers, holiday hire boats (no license required-top speed is about 4 mph.) and permanent residences. Over 8500 canal boats are registered as permanent homes. There are over 2000 miles of canals to choose from for pleasure cruising. Returns are honored for any reason.
