Tsuchiya Koitsu – "Ducks" / "Moon and Ducks"
Original Japanese Woodblock Print – Doi Hangaten / Doi Eiichi Edition
A beautiful original Japanese woodblock print by Tsuchiya Koitsu (土屋光逸), one of the notable artists of the Shin-Hanga movement.
The print depicts two ducks flying over reeds beneath a full moon. The quiet nighttime atmosphere, soft colors, and detailed rendering of the ducks and vegetation are characteristic of Koitsu's beautiful landscape and nature imagery.
This is an original woodblock print issued by Doi Hangaten (土井版画店), in the Doi Eiichi edition (土井英一版), rather than a modern reproduction or offset print.
